End of Life Care at home is now more possible; and it is nice to see more families turning to us for this kind of support, knowing they can trust us during this time with their End of life care.
We are seeing many families choosing to stay at home now that the Government has allocated funding of up to $25,000 to support this. It’s something I have always believed in and advocated for, if someone wants to be at home at the end of their life, they should be able to, there is no reason they shouldn’t.
We have been supporting people through this for many years now, including Voluntary Assisted Dying (VAD), and working closely with families and Palliative Care teams to make sure everything is in place. It can feel overwhelming, but it doesn’t have to be.
A big part of this is trust. Being invited into someone’s life at this stage is special; and something we are genuinely proud of. It’s not just about care, it is about being there for the person and for everyone around them, and giving them the space and time to focus on what really matters – each other…. This is the kind of work that stays with you, and our Angels feel that too.

Nothing compares to the smells and sounds of home and being surrounded by the family and friends you love.
